Epoxyharsen worden gemaakt door een reeks polycondensatiereacties tussen een verbinding met twee fenolhydroxylgroepen (zoals bisfenol A of andere polyfenolen of polyolen) en epichloorhydrine. Mensen voegen vaak de namen van verschillende monomeren toe voor epoxyharsen. Bisfenol A epoxyhars wordt gemaakt van bisfenol A en epichloorhydrine. Men noemt dit proces Synthese van bisfenol A epoxyhars.      <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-synthesis-of-bisphenol-a-epoxy-resin\">Synthese van bisfenol A epoxyhars<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"\">Synthese van bisfenol A<br \/>Bisfenol A is een belangrijke grondstof voor de bereiding van epoxyhars.<br \/>Fenol en aceton condenseren tot 2,2-(4,4&#8242;-dihydroxydifenyl)propaan, dat bisfenol A of difenolpropaan wordt genoemd.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\">Synthese van epichloorhydrine en epoxyhars<br \/>Eerst reageert 3-chloorpropyleen met onderchlorig zuur HOCL om 1,3-dichloorpropanol te maken. Ten tweede reageert het met natriumhydroxide om epichloorhydrine te produceren door een intramoleculaire nucleofiele substitutiereactie. Men controleerde de polymerisatiegraad door de molverhouding van bisfenol A tot epichloorhydrine aan te passen aan de behoeften van verschillende toepassingen.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-properties-of-bisphenol-a-epoxy-resin\">Eigenschappen van bisfenol A epoxyhars<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"\">Lineaire epoxyhars kan een driedimensionale netwerkstructuur genereren door een uithardingsmiddel toe te voegen. Veel gebruikte uithardingsmiddelen zijn amines of carboxylanhydriden, zoals tri\u00ebthyleentriamine, male\u00efnezuuranhydride en ftaalzuuranhydride. De functie van het uithardingsmiddel is om de twee actieve epoxygroepen aan de uiteinden van de epoxyharsketen te openen, zodat de lineaire moleculen elkaar kunnen kruisen om een driedimensionale structuur te vormen. Omdat er hydroxylgroepen, etherbindingen en epoxygroepen in de epoxyharsstructuur zitten, heeft het een zeer hoge bindingskracht. Door de chemische activiteit van epoxygroepen kunnen mensen een verscheidenheid aan verbindingen met actieve waterstof gebruiken om de ring te openen, uit te harden en te verknopen tot een netwerkstructuur, dus het is een thermohardende hars.    <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-advantages-and-uses\">Voordelen en gebruik  <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"\">Bisfenol A epoxyhars heeft extreem sterke hechteigenschappen. En het kan verschillende materialen stevig hechten, zoals metalen, keramiek, glas, hout, etc., algemeen bekend als &#8220;universele lijm&#8221;. <br \/>Bij het uitharden van epoxyhars ontstaan geen luchtbellen. De krimp is klein na uitharding en de mechanische sterkte is hoog. Het heeft goede elektrische isolatie-eigenschappen en is bestand tegen zuur, alkali en zout. Gelamineerde producten gemaakt met glasvezel als vulstof zijn sterker dan de overeenkomstige gelamineerde materialen van fenol. Ze zijn ook sterker dan die van onverzadigde polyesterharsen.
