Met een molecuulformule van C\u2081\u2084H\u2082\u2086O\u2084 en een molecuulgewicht van 258,35 wordt dibutyladipaat gekenmerkt door zijn oplosbaarheid in ether en ethanol, terwijl het onoplosbaar is in water.
