Viene prodotta da una serie di reazioni di policondensazione tra un composto contenente due gruppi idrossilici fenolici (come il bisfenolo A o altri polifenoli o polioli) e l&#8217;epicloridrina. Spesso si aggiungono i nomi di diversi monomeri davanti alle resine epossidiche. La resina epossidica al bisfenolo A si ottiene dal bisfenolo A e dall&#8217;epicloridrina. Questo processo viene chiamato Sintesi della resina epossidica di bisfenolo A.      <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-synthesis-of-bisphenol-a-epoxy-resin\">Sintesi della resina epossidica di bisfenolo A<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"\">Sintesi del bisfenolo A<br \/>Il bisfenolo A \u00e8 un&#8217;importante materia prima per la preparazione della resina epossidica.<br \/>Il fenolo e l&#8217;acetone si condensano per formare il 2,2-(4,4&#8242;-diidrossifenil)propano, indicato come bisfenolo A o difenolo propano.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"\">Sintesi dell&#8217;epicloridrina e della resina epossidica<br \/>In primo luogo, il tricloropropilene reagisce con l&#8217;acido ipocloroso HOCL per generare 1,3-dicloropropanolo. In secondo luogo, reagisce con l&#8217;idrossido di sodio per produrre l&#8217;epicloridrina tramite una reazione di sostituzione nucleofila intramolecolare. L&#8217;uomo ha controllato il grado di polimerizzazione regolando il rapporto molare tra bisfenolo A ed epicloridrina per soddisfare le esigenze dei diversi usi.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-properties-of-bisphenol-a-epoxy-resin\">Propriet\u00e0 della resina epossidica al bisfenolo A<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"\">La resina epossidica lineare pu\u00f2 generare una struttura a rete tridimensionale aggiungendo un agente indurente. Gli agenti indurenti comunemente utilizzati sono ammine o anidridi carbossiliche, come la trietilenetriamina, l&#8217;anidride maleica e l&#8217;anidride ftalica. La funzione dell&#8217;agente indurente \u00e8 quella di aprire i due gruppi epossidici attivi alle estremit\u00e0 della catena di resina epossidica, in modo che le molecole lineari possano reticolare tra loro per formare una struttura tridimensionale. Poich\u00e9 nella struttura della resina epossidica sono presenti gruppi idrossilici, legami eterei e gruppi epossidici, la forza di legame \u00e8 molto elevata. Grazie all&#8217;attivit\u00e0 chimica dei gruppi epossidici, \u00e8 possibile utilizzare una serie di composti contenenti idrogeno attivo per aprire l&#8217;anello, polimerizzare e reticolare per formare una struttura a rete: si tratta quindi di una resina termoindurente.    <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-advantages-and-uses\">Vantaggi e utilizzi  <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"\">La resina epossidica al bisfenolo A ha propriet\u00e0 di incollaggio estremamente forti. \u00c8 in grado di incollare saldamente diversi materiali, come metalli, ceramica, vetro, legno e cos\u00ec via, ed \u00e8 comunemente nota come &#8220;colla universale&#8221;. <br \/>La resina epossidica non genera bolle durante la polimerizzazione. La contrazione \u00e8 minima dopo l&#8217;indurimento e la resistenza meccanica \u00e8 elevata. Ha buone propriet\u00e0 di isolamento elettrico ed \u00e8 resistente ad acidi, alcali e sali. I prodotti laminati realizzati con fibra di vetro come riempitivo sono pi\u00f9 resistenti dei corrispondenti materiali laminati di fenolico. Inoltre, sono pi\u00f9 resistenti di quelli realizzati con resine poliestere insature.
