Definition
High Quality Acrylonitrile for Leather is a colorless liquid with a boiling point of 78°C. It is a monomer for synthetic fibers, synthetic rubber, and synthetic leather, and is also an important raw material for organic synthesis. People regarded nitriles as the product of the substitution of a hydrocarbon group for a hydrogen atom in a hydrocyanic acid molecule. Their general formula is RCN (ArCN). Nitriles are often named according to the number of carbon atoms contained in the nitrile molecule, or with an alkane as the parent and a nitrile group as the substituent, and are called a nitrile-based alkane. For example, acetonitrile is also called nitrile methane, propionitrile is also called nitrile ethane, and acrylonitrile is called nitrile ethylene.
Preparation
We can produce High Quality Acrylonitrile for Leather by the reaction of acetylene and hydrocyanic acid. The condition is at 80-90°C. Also this needs under the catalysis of a dilute hydrochloric acid solution of cuprous chloride-potassium chloride-sodium chloride to produce acrylonitrile. This method has a simple production process and a good yield, which can reach 97% based on hydrocyanic acid.
People can also use propylene ammoxidation. It is a production method with the most industrial production value. It uses propylene, ammonia, air and water as raw materials, and enters a fluidized bed or fixed bed reactor in a certain ratio. Under the action of phosphorus molybdenum bismuth or antimony iron catalysts with silica gel as carrier, we produced high quality acrylonitrile for leather at 400-500 ℃ and normal pressure.
Then, we moved the unreacted ammonia by dilute sulfuric acid in the neutralization tower. And then we make water absorb the acrylonitrile and other gases in the absorption tower to form an aqueous solution. Firstly, we separated the aqueous solution from acetonitrile by the extraction tower. Secondly, we moved hydrocyanic acid in the dehydrocyanic acid tower. After dehydration and distillation, we produced the acrylonitrile product, and its single-pass yield can reach 75%. The by-products are acetonitrile, hydrocyanic acid and ammonium sulfate. CH2═CH—CH3 + NH3 + 3/2O2 → CH2═CH—CN + 3H2O. We called this method as ammoxidation, which is currently the main production method of acrylonitrile.
Uses of High Quality Acrylonitrile for Leather
High Quality Acrylonitrile for Leather can be polymerized to form polyacrylonitrile in the presence of an initiator (such as benzoyl peroxide). People called polyacrylonitrile fiber acrylic fiber, also known as artificial wool. This synthetic fiber has the characteristics of high strength, good warmth retention, sunlight resistance, acid resistance and solvent resistance. People can also make acrylonitrile copolymerize with other compounds. People made nitrile rubber by copolymerizing acrylonitrile and 1,3-butadiene. It has the characteristics of oil resistance, cold resistance and solvent resistance. It is the raw material for making artificial leather. Therefore, we called it High Quality Acrylonitrile for Leather.
